Marking their first album since the highly publicized departure of long-time drummer Janet Weiss, the foundational riot grrrl group retreated to a looser, self-produced indie rock sound. The project actively explores the political turmoil of the 2020 pandemic and the subsequent protests in their hometown of Portland. While retaining their signature dueling vocal dynamics, it largely abandons the abrasive punk edge of their prime for a more subdued rock format.
