Album Notes & Community Reviews

Emerging from the highly influential SST Records roster, the San Francisco outfit constructed a jagged, intellectually demanding iteration of alternative rock. 'Riposte' is characterized by angular, dissonant guitar interplay and obscure, idiosyncratic lyricism. The band's distinct refusal to adhere to traditional post-punk structures made them critical darlings of the American underground.
