Biography
Slovenly were a Los Angeles post-punk band active from 1981 to 1992. Formed by singer Steve Anderson, drummer Rob Holzman and guitarists Tim Plowman, Tom Watson and Scott Ziegler, they released five studio albums, first for #New Alliance Records# and then for #SST Records#, including 'Thinking of Empire', 'Riposte' and 'We Shoot for the Moon'. Their intricate guitar interplay and Anderson's introspective, speak-sung vocals made them one of the most original and under-recognised American underground bands of the 1980s.
