Album Notes & Community Reviews

Centered entirely around the tragically frail, highly expressive vocal performances of Benjamin, the Atlanta-based ensemble Smoke delivers a harrowing masterpiece of southern gothic folk. 'Another Reason to Fast' relies heavily on skeletal acoustic guitars, mournful cellos, and deeply personal lyricism detailing addiction and the devastation of the AIDS crisis. The album is an incredibly devastating, highly intimate document of profound Southern melancholy.
