Album Notes & Community Reviews
Soft Machine's 'Land of Cockayne' appeared after the group's classic Canterbury and fusion periods, with Karl Jenkins guiding a polished studio ensemble. The album emphasizes smoother textures and guest-heavy arrangements, making it a late outlier in the band's discography rather than a continuation of its early experimental identity.
