Album Notes & Community Reviews

Tony Wakeford's influential dark folk project refined its remarkably bleak, acoustic-driven sound with highly orchestrated chamber arrangements. The heavily melancholic instrumentation, heavily featuring cellos and stark acoustic guitars, perfectly complements the cynical, historically focused poetry. It remains a deeply atmospheric, essential recording that helped definitively codify the European neofolk aesthetic.
