Album Notes & Community Reviews

Sonic Youth's debut full-length is a deeply terrifying, brutally lo-fi exploration of No Wave dissonance and experimental punk. The band utilizes unconventional guitar tunings, drum sticks scraped against strings, and heavy tribal percussion to construct a chaotic, incredibly noisy atmosphere. 'Confusion Is Sex' remains a dark, deeply disturbing, and foundational document of the New York underground.
