Album Notes & Community Reviews
An extraordinary cross-generational dialogue, this album pits Sonny Rollins's angular, avant-garde-leaning modernism against Coleman Hawkins's robust swing traditions. The resulting session bristles with technical brilliance and fascinating, confrontational improvisations.
