Biography
The 'father' of the tenor saxophone, Coleman Hawkins was a jazz titan who established the horn as a major solo instrument. His powerful, harmonically advanced playing allowed him to remain a relevant and modern voice throughout the bebop and post-bop eras, a bridge from swing to modernism.
