Album Notes & Community Reviews

A powerful and politically charged album from the Shabaka Hutchings-led supergroup. 'Your Queen Is a Reptile' is a celebration of influential black women throughout history, with each track dedicated to a different 'queen.' The music is a visceral, high-energy fusion of jazz, Caribbean rhythms, and London club culture, driven by the unique and powerful sound of two drummers and Theon Cross's thunderous tuba, which serves as the bass. The album was a critical sensation and a key document of the modern UK jazz scene.
