Portrait of My Heart

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Portrait of My Heart', SPELLLING pivots from lush chamber-pop to a more direct, rock-forward sound centered around a core band of guitar, bass, and drums. The production introduces heavier, grunge-influenced guitar riffs and energetic arrangements while maintaining the artist's avant-pop sensibilities and layered synthesizers. This sonic shift accompanies lyrical themes of anxiety, love, and identity, all conveyed through Chrystia Cabral's powerful and soaring vocal performances which remain at the forefront of the concise, high-energy compositions.
