Album Notes & Community Reviews

Armed with a famously light, vibrato-less saxophone tone, the leader guides his quartet through a series of lyrical, highly polished performances. The session epitomizes the detached elegance of the cool jazz movement, favoring intricate melodic development and subtle dynamics over aggressive blues shouting.
