Album Notes & Community Reviews

A pivotal album where the mainstream giant Stan Getz masterfully embraced the language of the new generation. Featuring complex, energetic modal pieces by a young Chick Corea and backed by a brilliant modern rhythm section, the album pushed Getz far beyond his cool school comfort zone. It's a key moment demonstrating how the harmonic and rhythmic sophistication of post-bop had become the new mainstream.
