Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing his pursuit of bringing symphonic complexity to modern jazz, this ambitious release highlights a highly structured, avant-garde approach to large ensemble arranging. The band utilizes dissonant harmonies and unusual time signatures to push beyond the conventional swing format. These recordings were instrumental in defining the intellectual and stylized sound of the West Coast jazz movement.
