Album Notes & Community Reviews
Employing his massive brass section, including newly implemented mellophoniums, the progressive bandleader infuses standard holiday repertoire with immense symphonic weight. The arrangements alternate between solemn, chorale-like majesty and aggressive, polytonal jazz reharmonizations. The project offers a uniquely heavy, highly intellectualized approach to seasonal instrumental music.
