Album Notes & Community Reviews
Operating as a companion piece to his 'Sketches on Standards', this release finds the Stan Kenton Orchestra injecting popular melodies with aggressive, modernist energy. The dense, highly complex brass arrangements elevate traditional song structures, cementing his reputation as the most intellectually demanding bandleader of the post-war era.
