Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released to capitalize on their massive mainstream success, this archival live recording actually documents the band's earlier incarnation, The Sparrows, performing at the Matrix in San Francisco in May 1967. Highlighting a sprawling, 20-minute improvisation on 'The Pusher,' the set reveals their gritty, blues-heavy psychedelic origins long before they crystallized the definitive, leather-clad hard rock sound of 'Born to Be Wild.'
