Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded entirely acoustically in Nashville following his release from jail and a successful rehabilitation program, the veteran songwriter delivered a remarkably intimate career resurgence. Accompanied by bluegrass legends Peter Rowan, Roy Huskey Jr., and Norman Blake, the pristine, live-in-the-studio performances breathe new life into older, previously unrecorded material and traditional covers. The raw, deeply sincere effort earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
