Album Notes & Community Reviews
Avant-garde pioneer Steve Lacy leads an unusual ensemble comprising mostly saxophonists and guitarists on the highly challenging 'Saxophone Special'. The recording is a chaotic, dense exploration of free improvisation and dissonant acoustic textures, establishing new boundaries for experimental European jazz.
