Album Notes & Community Reviews
Acting as his debut as a bandleader, this session marks one of the earliest modern jazz albums dedicated entirely to the soprano saxophone. Accompanied by Wynton Kelly, the musician adapts complex bop and Monk compositions to an instrument that had largely been abandoned since the swing era.
