Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following severe lineup changes, Dave Cousins steered Strawbs completely away from their acoustic bluegrass origins into highly polished, gothic-tinged symphonic rock. Aided significantly by John Hawken's dominant Mellotron playing, the album explores dark, sweeping themes of lost love and despair, achieving notable success in North America.
