Album Notes & Community Reviews

A crucial turning point for the Chicago-based pomp rockers, marking the debut of guitarist and singer-songwriter Tommy Shaw. His inclusion immediately balanced their theatrical, keyboard-heavy progressive tendencies with a sharper, more accessible hard rock edge. The soaring title track and intricate vocal harmonies perfectly set the stage for their massive commercial breakthrough the following year.
