Biography
Styx is an American rock band from Chicago, formed in 1972 by Dennis DeYoung, Chuck and John Panozzo, John Curulewski and James Young. After early progressive rock albums on #Wooden Nickel#, the hit 'Lady' took them to #A&M Records#, and with Tommy Shaw aboard they released four consecutive multi platinum albums between 1977 and 1981, including 'The Grand Illusion' and 'Paradise Theatre'. The band split in 1984 and later reunited; since DeYoung's 1999 departure, Young and Shaw have led Styx through albums such as 'The Mission' and 'Crash of the Crown'.
