A highly ambitious rock opera conceived by Dennis DeYoung, this concept album tells the dystopian story of a future where rock music has been outlawed by a fascist government. Fueled by the massive, heavily synthesized hit 'Mr. Roboto', the project’s intense theatricality caused severe internal friction. The polarizing narrative and subsequent exhaustive live tour ultimately fractured the band, leading to an extended hiatus.
