Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Effigy of the Forgotten' essentially established the blueprint for brutal death metal with its impossibly heavy, palm-muted riffs and guttural vocal delivery. Suffocation pairs unmatched speed and aggression with dizzyingly complex, technical breakdowns, forging an apocalyptic and deeply misanthropic atmosphere.
