Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released years before their massive pivot to breezy, radio-friendly pop-rock, Sugar Ray's debut is a wildly aggressive, highly juvenile blast of 90s funk-metal. 'Lemonade and Brownies' heavily features slapping basslines, abrasive heavy metal guitars, and Mark McGrath's bratty, rap-influenced vocal deliveries. It serves as a surprisingly heavy, deeply strange historical footnote considering the band's subsequent soft-rock superstardom.
