Album Notes & Community Reviews

A sprawling double album that fully embraces Mark Kozelek's stream-of-consciousness, spoken-word lyrical style, recorded with drummer Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth. The songs are lengthy, diary-like entries that comment on current events, personal anecdotes, and mundane details of life, set to minimalist and repetitive musical backing. Its unconventional structure and raw, unfiltered lyrical content represent a peak of his experimental phase.
