Composed and recorded remotely during the height of the pandemic quarantine, 'Promise' shifts the group's focus toward a more personal exploration of hope and uncertainty. The remaining members blended pedal steel, baritone guitar, and organ to capture the emotional weight of isolation. The album features the final recorded performances of founding synthesizer player Gary Leib, adding a poignant significance to its release.
