SUSS

SUSS is a New York-based group that pioneers a genre they call "ambient country." Comprised of veteran musicians Bob Holmes, Pat Irwin, and Jonathan Gregg, the band melds classic Americana instrumentation like pedal steel, mandolin, and baritone guitar with atmospheric synthesizers and minimalist loops. Their sound evokes vast, cinematic landscapes, drawing comparisons to *Brian Eno*'s work with *Daniel Lanois* and the film scores of Ennio Morricone. After their debut 'Ghost Box' became an underground success, they signed with #Northern Spy Records#. The band continued as a trio following the passing of founding member Gary Leib in 2021.
