Anonymous Bodies in an Empty Room

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally released as an unofficial bootleg before being formalized by Michael Gira, this murky recording captures the transition period around 'The Burning World'. The set highlights an era where the group heavily incorporated acoustic instrumentation, resulting in a bleak, gothic folk atmosphere heavily saturated in tape hiss. Its flawed sonic fidelity paradoxically enhances the deeply depressive mood of the performance.
