Filth

Marking the band's full-length debut, 'Filth' is a work of primal, repetitive noise rock built upon a dual-drummer and dual-bassist lineup that produces a grinding, kinetic, and punishing sound. Michael Gira's bellowing vocals explore themes of power, social decay, and corruption with a confrontational directness reflective of the dying New York no wave scene from which it emerged. The album's abrasive textures and deliberate hostility were foundational for later industrial, sludge, and noise-rock genres.
