Album Notes & Community Reviews

Compiled from recordings of the band's 1995 and 1997 final tours, 'Swans Are Dead' documents the sheer sonic weight and transcendental evolution of the group's live performances before their initial dissolution. It features radically extended, reimagined versions of tracks from their mid-90s studio output, transforming them into crushing, atmospheric monoliths. The album stands as a definitive monument to the uncompromising intensity of Michael Gira's early vision.
