Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pushing the boundaries of the rapidly evolving club sound, 'Stars' heavily integrates synthesized sequences and relentless four-on-the-floor rhythms into its ecstatic gospel-rooted vocals. Sylvester's soaring falsetto and defiant queer identity became a massive beacon for the marginalized disco community. The Patrick Cowley-assisted production laid crucial foundations for the harder, electronic Hi-NRG movement of the 1980s.
