Album Notes & Community Reviews
Continuing her highly successful collaborations with Yellow Magic Orchestra's Ryuichi Sakamoto, the acclaimed City Pop pioneer delivered a sophisticated, deeply European-influenced album. 'Copine' utilizes immaculate synthesizer programming and lush, breezy arrangements that heavily draw from French pop and bossa nova aesthetics. The elegant, highly polished production perfectly complements Ohnuki's delicate vocal phrasing, solidifying her supreme status within Japan's 1980s adult-contemporary market.
