Album Notes & Community Reviews

Supported by an elite ensemble of Japanese session musicians including Haruomi Hosono and Ryuichi Sakamoto, Tatsuro Yamashita perfects his cosmopolitan blend of soul and pop. The pristine studio production, funky rhythm sections, and sophisticated vocal arrangements helped establish the definitive blueprint for the emerging City Pop genre. It remains a masterclass in elegant, Western-influenced urban contemporary music.
