Album Notes & Community Reviews

Demonstrating a fiery, remarkably clear trumpet tone, the bandleader navigates complex post-bop structures infused with subtle Afro-Cuban rhythmic undercurrents. The quartet interplay is sharp and highly communicative, avoiding standard cliches in favor of more challenging, slightly angular harmonic pathways. The project solidifies the trumpeter as an underappreciated, forward-thinking voice in 1960s acoustic jazz.
