Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released as the Britpop movement reached its absolute zenith, Dan Treacy's Television Personalities deliver a deeply cynical, beautifully ramshackle counterpoint to the era's glossy optimism. 'I Was a Mod Before You Was a Mod' heavily utilizes extremely lo-fi, jangle-pop arrangements to back Treacy's highly vulnerable, profoundly depressive lyricism. It is a fiercely independent, highly influential pillar of the British post-punk underground.
