Sagarmatha

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Named after the Nepalese term for Mount Everest, the Kansas-based outfit's seventh studio album largely eschews vocals to focus on expansive, cinematic post-rock instrumentals. The record relies on slowly building guitar crescendos and intricate drumming, moving away from the midwest emo structures of their earlier catalog. The sprawling, atmospheric arrangements reflect the band's continued evolution toward complex, long-form composition.
