Cobbled together from the ashes of the legendary, abandoned 'Smile' sessions, this wildly eccentric album is a lo-fi, deeply surreal pop oddity. 'Smiley Smile' is incredibly mellow and fiercely quirky, replacing sweeping studio orchestration with intensely playful, highly experimental vocal group harmonies and wonderfully psychedelic fragmentation.
