Album Notes & Community Reviews

Formed by former Manfred Mann members Paul Jones and Tom McGuinness, The Blues Band initially struggled to secure a record deal, leading them to self-release this album as a 'bootleg'. The immense grassroots popularity of the band's gritty, energetic take on classic British blues eventually prompted Arista Records to officially issue the recording. It sparked a modest but fervent blues revival in the UK.
