Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released under the name of the seminal Greenwich Village blues-rock outfit to satisfy contractual obligations, this record was largely recorded by the musicians who would soon form Seatrain. 'Planned Obsolescence' abandons purist electric blues in favor of eclectic arrangements featuring electric violin, flute, and progressive rock structures. It stands as a fascinating transitional document showcasing a group rapidly evolving beyond their original musical mandate.
