Biography
Formed in Greenwich Village in 1965, the Blues Project were among the first American bands to stretch the blues into psychedelic rock and jazz, earning a reputation as pioneers of the jam-band approach. The classic line-up of Danny Kalb, Steve Katz, Andy Kulberg, Roy Blumenfeld and Al Kooper produced the live debut 'Live at the Cafe Au Go Go' and the studio peak 'Projections' (both 1966) for #Verve Records#. Kooper and Katz departed for *Blood, Sweat & Tears*, and Katz and Blumenfeld lead the revived band today.
