Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded shortly after the critically acclaimed '(Untitled)', the folk-rock pioneers' tenth studio album was met with significant backlash due to the heavy-handed orchestral and gospel-choir overdubs applied during post-production by producer Terry Melcher. Despite the lush arrangements partially obscuring the band's signature country-rock jangle, the record features strong underlying songwriting and intricate playing. It remains a highly polarizing, fiercely debated artifact of the group's late-era output.
