Magician Among the Spirits

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating without major label support and amidst severe financial difficulties, the Australian veterans crafted an incredibly dense, heavily atmospheric, and highly experimental record. The sprawling, meditative compositions frequently push past the ten-minute mark, favoring dark, ambient post-rock textures over the accessible jangle-pop of their early career. It represents a deeply uncompromising, transitional phase that heavily polarized their established fanbase.
