Album Notes & Community Reviews

On their sophomore album, The Church significantly refined their shimmering guitar sound, moving away from immediate new wave singles toward sweeping, atmospheric neo-psychedelia. Steve Kilbey's highly introspective, poetic lyrics drift over Peter Koppes and Marty Willson-Piper's intertwining, heavily chorused Rickenbackers, making 'The Blurred Crusade' a profoundly melancholic, bittersweet, and deeply melodic masterpiece.
