Cut the Crap
by The Clash
The final studio album released under The Clash moniker is a heavily disjointed, widely maligned effort recorded after the dismissal of Mick Jones and Topper Headon. Dominated by manager Bernie Rhodes's heavy-handed use of drum machines and chaotic, synthetic chanting, the record attempts to fuse punk rock with mechanical new wave aesthetics. Despite the deeply controversial production, 'Cut the Crap' features the highly anthemic, enduring swan song 'This Is England'.
