Electric

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Scrapping their initial, more atmospheric recordings, The Cult enlisted producer Rick Rubin to completely strip down their gothic post-punk sound into a pure, AC/DC-worshipping hard rock assault. The result is a profoundly energetic, riff-heavy album defined by Billy Duffy's muscular power chords and Ian Astbury's swaggering, bluesy howl. 'Electric' represents a triumphant, rebellious reinvention that successfully launched them into the stadium rock stratosphere.
