Album Notes & Community Reviews

Helmed by the magnificent, booming baritone of John Grant, the Denver-based quintet issues a deeply romantic and sophisticated collection of cinematic alternative rock. 'Before...But Longer' wraps Grant's wounded, confessional lyricism in incredibly lush, slow-paced arrangements reminiscent of classic crooner pop and modern slowcore. Released through the Cocteau Twins' Bella Union label, it solidified their reputation as masters of grandiose, melancholic Americana.
