Album Notes & Community Reviews
Completely shedding their early punk rock aggression, The Damned fully embraced incredibly lush, highly melodic gothic rock and new wave aesthetics. Dave Vanian's rich, vampiric baritone croons over atmospheric synthesizers and romantic, nocturnal guitar melodies. 'Phantasmagoria' is a playful, commercially successful, and highly polished theatrical record that redefined the band for the mid-80s goth scene.
