Album Notes & Community Reviews

Comprised entirely of soul and R&B covers, 'Ultraglide in Black' filtered classic Motown and Stax staples through a blown-out, dual-bass and dual-drum garage punk setup. Masterminded by Detroit rock veteran Mick Collins, the record injects ferocious, distorted energy into these vintage tracks without losing their inherent groove. The result is a vibrant, sweaty celebration of both black American musical history and underground noise.
